The 69th Annual Alzafar Shrine Circus has made its way to Freeman Coliseum! The Circus officially opened its doors on Thursday, September 6th. The Shrine Circus, with enchanting elephants, tantalizing tigers and amazing acrobats, wowed the thousands in attendance on opening night. Additionally, News 4 WOAI Today anchor, Michael Garofalo, welcomed the Circus guests and opened the 2012 show.
On Thursday morning, KABB-TV’s Mike Hernandez with Daytime at Nine and JT Street from Street’s Corner, spent some time with Tom Young, Alzafar Shriners Chief Rabban and Circus Director General; David “The Bullet” Smith Jr.; the wonderful elephants and their trainers; and the hilarious Shriner Clowns.

With shows throughout the weekend of Thursday, September 6th through Sunday, September 9th, families can enjoy the sights and sounds of the world’s only interactive Circus. Local news anchors Charles Gonzalez (KSAT-TV), Jeff Goldblatt (KENS-TV), and Kimberly Crawford (KABB-TV) will be welcoming guests throughout the weekend at the Saturday and Sunday shows.
