Mayor Julián Castro and his Fitness Council revealed an exciting resource: FitCitySA.com. The website is a community resource for health and fitness events, programs and initiatives. It is focused on achieving the metrics for health and fitness identified in the community’s SA2020 vision.
The announcement was made at a press event held on Friday, November 16th at City Hall. esd and associates Creative Director, Erik Simpson, and his team lead the charge to publicize and promote the announcement of the new web portal. Simpson also holds the position of the Marketing and Public Relations Chairman of the Mayor’s Fitness Council.
“FitCitySA.com is a great new resource for our community,” said Simpson. “It allows people, at any level of fitness, to learn more about what physical activities around the city, healthy eating, and much more.”
Members of the Mayor’s Fitness Council showed their support, as local Zumba instructor, Ana Primera and her team opened the event. Mayor Castro gave a brief state of the city’s fitness and health, then was later joined by Mayor’s Fitness Council leadership and student ambassador, Matthew Hernandez to unveil the FitCitySA logo.
