On Friday, December 21, SAMMinistries held a candlelight vigil in Milam Park to remember the 66 deaths San Antonio homeless persons.
More than 50 people and four news stations attended the 6^th annual candlelight memorial service. During the service, the names of each homeless person were read aloud, followed by the ringing of a bell in celebration of their life.

The number of homeless deaths in San Antonio decreased from 77 in 2011. In San Antonio the average age of a homeless adult is 48 years old and the average age of a homeless child is eight years old.
