The freezing temperatures this past Saturday, February 16, 2013 certainly didn’t deter runners from participating in SAMMinistries’ 4th Annual Street2Feet Run/Walk benefitting the homeless. Homeless residents from the training program participated in the event and ran alongside runners of all ages who came to support SAMMinistries. The race introduced a new course at First Presbyterian Church as well as the first-ever Cheering squads, who cheered runners to the finish line. This inspiring event also included Randy Beamer, Navarra Williams, Lana Hernandez, David Crouch and Reverend Trey Little as guest speakers.
About Street2Feet & SAMMinistries: Street2Feet, a volunteer 5k training program, was founded 5 years ago by Elizabeth Rosenblum and Meg Cullip, who teamed up with SAMMinistries as a way to help homeless people build skills like self-discipline, goal setting and self-confidence. SAMMinistries provides a number of programs and services to the homeless in San Antonio. Programs offered to guests include life skills, job training, financial management, computer skills, parenting classes and more.
