Kelly Scully, founder and owner of Finishing Touches, is an expert on luxury interior design. Her portfolio includes her work with local custom homebuilder Sitterle Homes: Amorosa at Cibolo Canyons, Inverness, Wellington Court at Belterra, the 2011 Parade of Homes and the 2013 Parade of Homes.
She was recently interviewed for a story about the styles of front doors in the Homes section of the San Antonio Express-News:
Interior designer Kelly Scully, who works with Sitterle Homes, said custom metal door styles are in high demand, ranging from straight to arched with iron clavoses and even speakeasy, peek-a-boo-type doors within doors that evoke Prohibition and the Roaring ’20s.
“Contemporary looks mixed with classic lines are hot right now,” Scully said. “There is a definite turn away from what I like to call ‘Texas Tuscan.’” The front of the home is the heart of curb appeal, she said, and is a key part of that first impression.
“A person’s choice gives a sneak peak of what’s to come,” she said. “You get a glimpse of what their personality is and what style might lie behind their beautiful door.”
