San Antonians can take the first step to living a healthier life in the New Year by entering the YMCA’s contest for a month’s free membership.
YMCA of Greater San Antonio is launching its annual membership drive with a Facebook contest for a one-month, free membership. The Y will award three of these free memberships.
YMCA of Greater San Antonio has plenty to offer in both facilities and programs:

  • State-of-the-art fitness facilities at 10 locations in San Antonio, Boerne and New Braunfels.
  • The signature Fit Path program specially designed to get members started on their fitness journey.
  • Healthy living and physical fitness programs for people of all ages and levels of fitness.
  • Complimentary child care while parents are exercising at the Y.

“Let’s begin our new fitness commitment with fun, fitness-centered contest,” says Laura Waldrum, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “New members also will lose some winter chill as they experience the warmth and support of the YMCA community.”
To enter the sweepstakes, go to the YMCA of Greater San Antonio’s Facebook page. Click on the contest post, fill out the entry form and that’s it. Share the entry post for extra chances to win. The winners will be announced Jan. 15. No one is required to join the YMCA to enter.

Fitness begins in 2014 with the YMCA
To add to the fun, the Y is waiving its usual joining fee during January. That’s a savings of $49 to add an extra incentive to sign up and get started on new, healthier lifestyle.
“To join, go to a nearby YMCA, where you can take a tour and discover all the benefits of being part of the Y community,” says Waldrum. “There are 10 convenient locations in the San Antonio area. To find the one nearest you, go to www.joinymca.org.”
YMCA of Greater San Antonio is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Locally organized in 1876, the Y mission is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Last year, 125,000 individuals were served at 11 YMCA facilities and many more program sites throughout Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe and Kendall counties. Learn more at www.ymcasatx.org.
