The all-night event, which ran from 7 a.m., March 27 through 7 p.m., March 28, was designed to allow the public to easily enroll in affordable health insurance at times when fewer people nationally were accessing the HealthCare.gov site.
Sendero organized the event in conjunction with the Latino HealthCare Forum to help the Austin community beat the March 31 deadline to enroll in coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
“At the risk of letting everyone in on our best kept secret, we are inviting the public to come down at all hours of the night to not only beat the deadline, but beat the website jam as well”, said David Lamkin, CEO of Sendero Health Plans, of the 36-hour all night event.
esd & associates organized the 10:30 a.m. press conference at the offices of Latino HealthCare Forum at 6601 block of Felix Ave. Speakers included David Lamkin of Sendero and State Representative Celia Israel.
With coverage on multiple newscasts throughout the night and day, including KEYE and Univision 46, the public was able to learn about this innovative and convenient way to get enrolled.
