San Antonio — No sooner had registration opened for San Antonio’s Institute for Women’s Health Los Luchadores 5K than the race got international attention.
Love Bootstrap has featured the race’s website (www.ifwh5K.org) as one of the best sites on the web using the Bootstrap platform. Love Bootstrap is an unofficial Bootstrap site that showcases the use of the web framework originally developed by Twitter. The Los Luchadores site is featured at www.lovebootstrap.com. “This 5K run and walk is the first of its kind in San Antonio and we’re excited it’s getting off to such a great start,” said Estefania Arguelles of Institute for Women’s Health. “We look forward to not only helping support an amazing organization but having a great time while doing it.” Los Luchadores 5K joins other great sites across the web, including established brands like Newsweek, The Rolling Stones, Intel UK, Michaels, Medicare, Jamie Oliver, the Discovery Channel and more. For a fun twist, the 5K on Oct. 11 invites participants to dress in their most creative Luchador wrestling costume. Proceeds will benefit Seton Home, a local organization that exists to provide a nurturing environment for homeless teens who are pregnant or parenting and have chosen to keep their babies. The organization fosters childbirth and educates teens on proper parenting skills, so race participants are contributing to their local community. esd & associates designed the Bootstrap-based website for the San Antonio OB/GYN clinic. The San Antonio digital design agency partnered with the South Texas OBGYN and fertility institute last March to coordinate all its public relations efforts, develop and implement its social media campaign strategy, and design and manage its main website as well as a website for the Advanced Fertility Center.
