“We recognized the marketing and communications expertise that Joseph has already contributed to our board and wanted to share it with the rest of the association by naming him to the 2015 CLB,” said Elizabeth Tobias, senior executive director of the American Diabetes Association.
“It is an honor to serve with so many people who are already recognized as local community leaders like Carols Torres, Tricia Aleman, and Dr. Adelita Cantu, “ said Garcia. “I hope my contributions help this amazing association get that much closer to curing a disease that affects 30 million men, women and children in our nation.”
Garcia hopes his contributions to the 75-year organization help the objectives of the organization to improve the lives of diabetics, increases education and awareness, and provides fundraising and support for the research needed to make significant advances in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diabetes.
