esd wins Telly award for video used nationally by American Heart Association

SAN ANTONIO – The 35th Annual Telly Awards has named esd & associates a Bronze winner for a video production showcasing how the digital marketing firm partnered with the American Heart Association to improve workplace wellness metrics through a blood pressure tracking program.

“We’re very proud to receive this recognition from the Telly Awards,” said esd Chief Creative Officer Erik Simpson. “Our creativity is fostered in also advocating important health initiatives in our workplace as well as in the San Antonio community.”

In March 2014, esd began participating in the AHA’s Check.  Change.  Control. program, which enables employees to monitor blood pressure while taking healthy steps toward improving heart health through the company’s existing fitness and wellness activities.

The video premiered at the AHA’s “Fit Friendly Symposium,” a free and interactive educational seminar for local companies looking to start or enhance a workplace wellness program.

“With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this Telly Award is truly an honor,” said Robert Crowe, esd & associates communications director, who produced the video with esd photographer-editor Lee Dunkelberg.

The Telly Awards, founded in 1979, is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.  Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

Check. Change. Control is used nationally by the American Heart Association in promoting it program to monitor and improve blood pressure as part of a workplace wellness program. You can view the video here.

Check. Change. Control also won a 2014 Gold Marcom Award, which played a role in esd winning first place in the small business division at the San Antonio Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers Awards.

Entries considered for the MarCom Awards come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, and freelancers from all over the world.

The American Heart Association also recently recognized esd & associates as a Platinum-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite. The designation recognizes ongoing efforts to get employees eating better and improving their fitness in general.
