Using ambassadors to recruit the best
While some students worry about getting into college, the best worry about which college to select. On the heels of changing their name, Texas State University wanted to attract a diverse student body while at the same time increase enrollment of high achieving students. esd&associates developed an ambassador campaign, gathering a team of current students, parents, faculty, administrators and alumni to help analyze and support a marketing enrollment package. The campaign launched new “call-to-action” creative, drawing attention to the Texas State brand and communicating “why” a student should enroll. The result: Texas State enrollment increased by 15 percent and a record number of entering freshmen emerged from diverse ethnic backgrounds — 25 percent of which are Hispanic — an important achievement in the Closing the Gap initiative.
