The New Face of Facebook

There are billions of users and thousands of companies and brands currently on Facebook. Recently, the social media giant announced plans to introduce a new design. But, while the new redesign means more, and sometimes cooler, features for users, it also means that companies have to adjust their social media marketing strategies.

With the new redesign, Facebook is hoping that a photo is really worth 1,000 words. The new redesign places emphasis on shared graphics and visuals. One of the new options scheduled to become available to users of the social networking site is the ability to view only photos in their newsfeed.

For companies, this also places more importance on graphics and visuals as a way to connect and engage with their target audience. If a user chooses to view only photos on their newsfeed and a company does not regularly post photographs, the company will lose their connection to this particular Facebook user. With this new option, a company can visually captivate their target audience and invite more engagement.

While it is important to understand the value of visuals in the new Facebook design, it also important to realize that the redesign also places value on visually captivating advertisements for companies. This not only allows a company’s creativity to shine, but it could also mean increased advertising opportunities for companies looking to sell their product or services to the billions of Facebook users.

Currently, Facebook only allows users to join the waiting list for access to the new redesign. Although it is a work-in-progress, Facebook’s redesign announcement gives companies the opportunity to reevaluate their social media strategy and how they will target their audience via the social networking site in the future to achieve results.
