Erik Simpson is the Chief Creative Director of esd and one of its managing partners. Erik has been the main building block of the agency since the doors opened in 1993. He began the agency fresh out of college and has since grown it from a small, three-client organization into San Antonio’s largest digital creative agency, servicing clients from around the state and in markets across the nation. His focus on superior marketing results, outstanding customer service, and challenging market limitations has won him positive and lasting partnerships with clients.
Part fanatic and part Renaissance man, Erik passionately demands excellence, inventiveness, and dedication, first of himself and then of the entire agency’s team. His foresight has won numerous client-agency awards, transitioned clients safely and successfully from the days of traditional marketing to digitally based initiatives, and helped expand the company a remarkable 70% since 2007. His mantra, “Good enough is never considered good enough,” rings true in the attention-getting results of every client initiative.
Erik is a dedicated member of the San Antonio community. He has been tapped by a number of organizations, affecting change for Communities in Schools, San Antonio Sports – Go Kids Challenge, University Health Foundation, the YMCA and many more. Currently, he serves as chairman for the City of San Antonio’s Mayor Fitness Council.
He remains actively involved in the creative and technical development of all major agency projects and campaigns. His extensive background in the field of communications and advertising delivers his clients to uncompromising results.
A total fitness fiend, Erik has participated and qualified in numerous triathlons and successfully completed The Leadville 100 in 2012. He was also a Sub 12-Hour Finisher for the Ironman in 2010 and 2011.
